Red MOTORAZR V3i to Fight AIDS

Following Apple’s red iPod Nano, Motorola has released red Motorazr V3i’s to help raise funds to fight AIDS in Africa. Motorola will be donating £10 from each handset and 5% of the monthly phone bill.

Rarz’s features aren’t so attractive with Quad Band, 1.23 Megapixel camera and 10 MB of internal memory, but it looks so good that anybody will be tempted to buy it. Red V3i should effectively increase Motorola’s V3i sales as well as help raise funds charity. This handset is been made exclusively available at Carphonewarehouse.

How to Watch Remote Live Cameras

Thesedays security Cameras are so cheap. Anybody can get one and connect it onto the net and start streaming it unprotected (without passwords). They do this so that they can keep an eye over their place from office, cafeteria or wherever, but they never know that Googlebot is spying over them :D

You can access these remote camera with a mere Google Search for “inurl:/view.index.shtml”. Some results might return a time out error and some might ask for a password, but keep trying.

The intention of this post is not to help you gain access to someone else’s camera, but to wake up those who have connected unprotected cameras to the net.

Why Stumblers are Active During Weekends ?

From the past couple of weeks, I’ve been closely monitoring my statistic. I have revealed that Stumblers are quite active during weekends. During weekdays I get around 150 - 300 hits from StumbleUpon’s referral, but it kicks upto 3500 - 4000 hits during weekends. Why makes them so active ?

My Theory: Most surfers use School, Office computers and obviously they won’t have StumbleUpon installed. At weekends, all school, office goers sit at home, they feel bored, so they use StumbleUpon to discover something new. StumbleUpon has always been my favorite timepass. When I have nothing to do, I keep stumbling randomly. I think everybody uses it the sameway. Don’t you ?

You can encourage all your readers to install StumbleUpon Extension (works with both IE and Firefox) or you can place a StumbleUpon badge below every post. Unlike Diggers, Stumblers read your blog, if the content is good and they keep coming back.

Yahoo to Launch Branded Portals

Yahoo has launched a Wii Portal for fans which aggregates Flickr Photos, Avatars with Wii Gear, Links from Del.icio.us and MyWeb, Games, all Wii related stuff from Yahoo Answers and ofcource links to buy the console and games from Yahoo’s Shopping Site. Wii Portal is just a first example of branded portals, there are 100 more brand portals in the pipeline for 2007.

Some of the future portals might include “American Idol” and “Lord of the Rings”. Yahoo isn’t seeking any affiliation or approval from these brands (Yahoo is just providing free promotion, why would they object ?). Yahoo was born as a portal and its good to see them get back to their original business.

Firefox with 101 Extensions

This how your browser might look if you install 101 extensions:

The above image is just a snapshot of the bigger version. With these may extensions, it looks somewhat like a Web Editor. His browser might take ages to start up !!

Installing lots of extensions makes your browser terrible slow and unstable, so take my words and restrict yourself to under 15 or 20 extensions.

Vizu Answers - Make Money With Polls

Imaging, How good it would be if you could make money without placing any adblocks, text links or referral banners?. Now you can make money by placing niche targeted polls on your blog too. This impressive new concept was coined by Vizu Answers. The payout is CPM based (cost per million) and you get paid for every click on the poll.

The process is simple, You need to start a Vizu Zone and set your own CPM rates (remember Vizu will charge 50% commission out of your revenue). Place the given ad code on your blog, preferable somewhere around the top of your sidebar. You can your poll widget by changing elements such as height, width and colors to suite your taste.

The polls are well targeted to your blog’s niche, so it encourages more user participation. While there are no polls to show, it simply hides itself and leaves no space. Payout will made either check or paypal once you’ve accumulated over 50$ in your account.

For Advertisers, Vizu Answers allows direct interaction with users of a particular taste and trend. These polls might even help publishers to know more about their readers. Overall, I’m impressed :)

Google is Secretly Impression Based Ad Network

John Chow points out that Google is secretly testing an impression based Ad Network called Google Display Advertising. This is something similar to Feedburner’s FAN, Tribal Fusion, Double Click or Casale Media and plans to capture advertisers who are planning build a brand name rather than sell products.

Google doesn’t like talking about this new Ad Network at the moment, Infact they won’t even acknowledge its existence. If this story is true, then its surely Google’s big leap towards hardcore advertising. The success of this new ad networks depends upon how the advertisers react, its surely not meant for small advertisers. According to John Chow, Google is hand picking publishers to test this new ad network and he is lucky to be one among them.

Such Impression based ad networks always face a hard time finding advertisers. Hence not all impressions are filled by Ads. I’m not against the idea of impression based advertising, it works great for me, but it’ll surely kill your return visitors as they get annoyed by these kind of ads. Let’s just wait and see if this actually comes out of secret testing phase.

Now start the program and fill the key, you’ll have a fully licenced version of Ashampoo Burning Studio 2007. Remember, registration automatically signs you up for their newsletter.

Nero has dominated the CD, DVD burning software segment by bundling it with CD, DVD burners, so Ashampoo is trying to break this monopoly and gain some popularity through word of mouth. Earlier, we saw Microsoft do the same by giving away Windows Vista Ultimate and Microsoft Office 2007 for free.
